Minnesota Vikings: Past, Present And Future
The Minnesota Vikings play their home games in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. Minnesota played its first NFL game against the Los Angeles Rams on September 10, 1961. The Vikings have a winning tradition, but have lost 4 Super Bowls. Stars for the Vikings have included quarterback Fran Tarkenton and defensive end Alan Page. The vaunted “purple people eaters” of the seventies thrilled fans with their defensive prowess. Their bright purple jerseys delighted television fans at the time color television was coming into fashion.
